PackPawer is a mobile app that helps take care of dogs, find other dogs in the dog walking area, and make new friends.
App Store
I analyzed the main competitors, including WOOFZ, GODOG, DOGO. Based on this analysis, I chose and prioritized the main features for the PackPawer MVP. I also identified the strong and weak points of each competitor to create a clear and user-friendly app.
Since the client had a tight budget, we jumped straight into defining the app's style. I put together references in two directions to lock down the overall look and feel. After reviewing the client's feedback, I moved on to creating design concepts.
Dog walking. Dog owners can see other dogs in their walking area.
They can view dog friends, all dogs, or filter them.
Clicker. A clicker for dog training and education. With a digital clicker, we remove the need for dog owners to carry an extra device in their hands.
Journal & Events. Dog's mood tracking, health monitoring, and basic physiological needs. Planning and event management. A section with articles for contextual help. Create an event to be displayed in the calendar. The user can select an event type or create a custom one, add a title, and specify the date and time. Set the frequency: one-time event or recurring event.
Profile & Dog health. Two profiles: a public one, which other dog owners can see, and a private profile containing all the details about the dog's health, diet, and insurance. Dog health displays key health information: diet, allergies, and details about upcoming vaccinations or medications. Insurance information: registration and microchip.
A walk together. Creating a group walk, choosing friends to join the walk, and selecting the date, location, and time for the group walk. The other dog owner accepts or declines the invitation and may change the date, location, or time of the meeting.
Lost dog. If a dog is lost, the owner can report it in the app so that other users can let them know if they've seen it.
I built a design system that included a color palette with light and dark modes, typography, as well as core and custom components.
In the early stages, the startup had over 100 downloads. Now, the app is scaling beyond Ukraine into European markets. Most recently, the founders reached out to me again to design a set of new features: Walk together, Health profile, and Lost dog.
